Hana is a Japanese word for flower. This pattern was inspired by a centuries old piece of Japanese embroidery which I translated, stroke by stroke, to keep the feel of hand stitching. With a modern repeat, larger scale, and additional colored elements, the resulting pattern's style pays homage to variety of cultures.
